Bookings:
All bookings are made based on vehicle category, not for a specific model. In the event of unavailability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed booking, Aspida Car Rental reserves the right to provide the customer with a higher category car, without additional charge.
Driver:
The age of 23 is the minimum age required to use cars of A, B, C and D categories. The age of 25 is the minimum age required for all other car categories.
Driving licence:
A valid driving license in the Greek territory and in the EU is required, issued at least 1 year before the rental commencement date. Non-EU nationals are required to hold a valid international driving license, together with the national driving license.
Traffic tickets – Fines:
Tickets and fines for road traffic offences shall be borne by the renter. In addition, the renter is responsible for paying the management costs, where required.
Methods of payment:
The renter is obliged to provide a credit card as security deposit for the rental, even if the payment is made in cash. The rental is prepaid.
Cancellations:
The booking can be cancelled at least ninety-six (96) hours before the scheduled date and time the rental begins (always according to the exact booking time), as appears in the booking system of the company. If you wish to cancel a booking, you should contact the company through the booking system.
The following fees apply to cancel bookings:
In case of notice of cancellation received by Aspida Car Rental at least ninety-six (96) hours before the scheduled commencement of the rental, any prepaid amount shall be refunded.
In case of notice of cancellation received by Aspida Car Rental less than ninety-six (96) hours before the scheduled commencement of the rental, no amount that may have been prepaid is refunded.
Pick-ups and drop-offs from different locations
Pick-ups and drop-offs from different locations are feasible upon the customer’s request. The extra charge for pick-ups and drop-offs within cities is 15€ + VAT, whereas for pick-ups and drop-offs outside the city, the cost is 25€ + VAT, plus 1.45€ + VAT per kilometre.
Additional driver:
The fee for each additional driver is 4€ per day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 3.
Accident:
In the event of an accident, the customer is charged 15€ for accident management costs.
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver::
The renter is fully released from liability for any car damage:
As a necessary condition for release from liability, it must be proved that the damage has not been caused by a road traffic offence.
SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver
The renter is fully released from liability for any car damage:
over €200 + VAT provided that he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of €7 over the CDW for each rental day for categories A-B-C-B+-C-C1.
over €300 + VAT provided that he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of €10 over the CDW for each rental day for categories D-E-D1-E1-E2-H
over €500 + VAT provided that he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of €13 over the CDW for each rental day for categories F1-J-K
over 800€ + VAT provided that he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 20€ over the CDW for each rental day for category I.
As a necessary condition for release from liability, it must be proved that the damage has not been caused by a road traffic offence.
PAI – Personal Accident Insurance:
The renter is not covered by “Driver’s Insurance” (PAI), unless he/she accepts and signs the relevant term of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 5€ per rental day for all vehicle categories.
Maximum amount of compensation payable: 15,000 euros.
Insurance premiums:
The vehicles are insured against third parties (other than the driver) for death and bodily injury up to one million two hundred and twenty thousand euros (€1,220,000.00) per accident and for material damage caused by third parties the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand euros (€1,220,000.00). In case of change of the above limits, the minimum limits shall apply, in accordance with the Greek legislation in effect. Losses exceeding or excluded from the insurance coverage limit will be paid in full by the customer.
Theft / Fire:
The renter is fully released from liability for any damage to the car in case of fire or theft, provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€ per rental day for all categories.
A key prerequisite for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, however slight, or illegal behaviour during the rental of the vehicle.
Roadside Assistance:
Aspida Car Rental vehicles are covered by 24-hour roadside assistance. The roadside assistance contact details are indicated in the rental contract.
Car transportation outside the country::
Transportation and driving of the car outside the borders of the Greek territory is prohibited.
Transportation by ship:
For the car transportation by ship, the written approval of the company is required.
